Blue Jays Marcus Stroman exits game after getting hit by line drive on arm image

In the second inning of the Blue Jays' game against the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday night at Camden Yards, Toronto pitcher Marcus Stroman was drilled by a line drive on his right arm.

The ball ricocheted off the 26-year-old's pitching arm and landed in the infield. Mark Trumbo, who hit the line drive, made it safely to first base.

Stroman was assessed on the field by team trainers, and was replaced by Matt Dermody. Stroman walked off the field with Blue Jays acting manager DeMarlo Hale. Stroman leads all Blue Jays pitchers with 11 wins, and carries a staff-low 3.11 ERA.

Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reported that the preliminary x-rays of Stroman's arm came back negative, and they are diagnosing it as a right elbow contusion.
