Lorenzo Cain injury update: Brewers outfielder leaves game after fouling ball off foot image

The Brewers may have lost their center fielder for a little while.

Lorenzo Cain left Milwaukee's matchup with the Marlins on Wednesday with an injury.

The Brewers lost the game 8-3.

Cain fouled a ball off his front foot in the ninth inning and was replaced by Hernan Perez in the lineup.

As strange as this may sound though, the Brewers announced after the game Cain left with a jammed thumb.

He was 0 for 3 in the game before he left. He is batting .253 with four home runs and 24 RBIs this season.

Milwaukee is 34-28 after losing Wednesday.

It trails the Cubs by 1/2 game in the National League Central race.
