Gleyber Torres injury update: Yankees infielder sent to hospital with 'core issue' image

The Yankees can't seem to shake injuries this season and Gleyber Torres might be the next player to land on the injured list.

Torres suffered a "core issue" during the Yankees' 7-4 win over the Red Sox.

Aaron Boone confirmed Torres went to a hospital to undergo further testing. He did not have an immediate update on the infielder's condition, but simply said: "We'll know soon enough."

Torres appeared to have injured himself early in Sunday's game and was seen running at half speed at one point.

He was later taken out of the game.

Torres has been discussed in potential trade scenarios recently, but the Yankees seem to be sticking with the 22-year-old and that he is "off limits," according to an MLB Network report.

He is slashing .288/.354/.518 with 23 home runs and 62 RBIs in 102 games this year.

Torres made his debut in 2018 and has been named an All-Star in both of his MLB seasons.
