MLB on Tuesday placed Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias on administrative leave after his arrest on suspicion of domestic violence, according to multiple reports.

Urias, 22, was allegedly seen by witnesses Monday arguing with a woman at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles around 9:30 p.m. PT. According to witnesses, the argument turned physical when Urias allegedly shoved the woman to the ground.

MLB released a statement on the matter Tuesday (via the Los Angeles Times): "We are aware of the incident and are in the process of gathering the facts."

Police were called after the incident, but both Urias and the woman allegedly said no physical altercation took place. However, witnesses told TMZ that Urias pushed the woman.

Urias was arrested and taken to a nearby police station, where he was charged with one count of misdemeanor domestic battery. He reporedly was released Tuesday on a $20,000 bond.

He is set to appear in court on June 4.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, speaking before his team's home game Tuesday against Padres told reporters (via ESPN.com) he was "choosing my words wisely," adding, "I don't know the facts."

"Obviously, it's not ideal in any sense of the word," Roberts said. "But until we know more, it just doesn't behoove me to make any comments. Fortunately, Major League Baseball is kind of digging into this, as it well should. We'll know more later."

Urias made his MLB debut in 2016 at just 19. He was quiet in 2017 and 2018 due to injuries, but has done well in 2019. He's posted a 2-2 record with a 3.18 ERA in nine appearances (four starts) this season.
