With the victory, the Phillies take a 3-2 series lead back to Philadelphia for the conclusion of the series. Philadelphia can clinch its second consecutive NL pennant with a win on Monday night, while Arizona has to come out on top to keep its 2023 World Series hopes alive.
The Phillies turn to Aaron Nola to put the D-Backs away. The righty was sensational in Game 2, pitching six shutout innings and lowering his postseason ERA to 0.96. In three playoff starts, Nola has allowed just two runs across 18.2 innings pitched, striking out 19 and walking just two batters in the process.
Arizona counters with Merrill Kelly, who gave up just three hits in Game 2, but all three went over the fence, accounting for four runs across 5.2 innings. The 35-year-old starter put together a strong start earlier in the postseason against the Dodgers, pitching 6.1 shutout innings.
