White Sox pitcher Danny Farquhar, who suffered a brain hemorrhage in the team's dugout during a game in April, will throw the ceremonial first pitch before the Sox's June 1 home game against the Brewers, MLB.com reported Wednesday.

Doctors have cleared Farquhar to throw the pitch, a source told MLB.com reporter Scott Merkin.

Farquhar, 31, collapsed in the home dugout at Guaranteed Rate Field after completing an inning against the Astros on April 20. He was transported to RUSH University Medical Center in Chicago and underwent emergency surgery. He was released from the hospital May 7.

Doctors determined a ruptured aneurysm caused the hemorrhage.

Farquhar will miss the remainder of the 2018 season but is expected to pitch again.
