Blue Jays fans, there is playoff baseball in Toronto.

For the first time since 2016, the Blue Jays will be playing postseason ball at the Rogers Centre, as the team begins its best-of-three series against the Mariners on Friday with Game 1.

As it has all season, Sportsnet is going to cover all of the Blue Jays during the 2022 MLB playoffs, however a familiar voice will not be heard in the booth.

Play-by-play announcer Dan Shulman is not going to be a part of the network's broadcast crew. In his place will be Buck Martinez, who will be joined by Pat Tabler and Hazel Mae. Shulman will still be on the call for Blue Jays games, he just will be on a different platform.

The AL Wild Card round begins with Game 1 tonight. Game 2 will follow on Saturday and a potential Game 3 would be played on Sunday.

What happened to Dan Shulman?

Shulman will not be a part of the Sportsnet broadcast crew for the 2022 MLB playoffs, however he still will be on the call for Blue Jays games.

Instead of working on the Sportsnet team, Shulman will be working for ESPN Radio, calling all of the Blue Jays games for the station. As long as the Blue Jays are in the postseason, the longtime voice of baseball in Canada will be broadcasting on the radio station.

The Blue Jays' faithful did not get to watch a Sportsnet broadcast during Toronto's postseason runs in 2015 and 2016, but will get to continue watching the Canadian-produced broadcast this season.
