The Cubs are headed to Toronto to face the Blue Jays in a weekend series, their first game broadcast on Apple TV+ this season.
Chicago is one of the hottest teams in the majors after a massive series win against the NL-leading Braves. They've won 20 of their last 33 outings since July 1, proving resiliency and relentlessness to the highest degree. They have a shot at the playoffs as their confidence on the field continues to grow and, if they can hang on tight, knuckles white, they might just hit that mark.
Meanwhile, the Blue Jays have a sensational rookie in Dan Schneider. Having just recently earned his call up after seven years in the minors, the 24-year-old has played three major league games. His stats across those games are historic; nine hits, including two home runs. The only other person to make that happen that fast was Coaker Triplett in 1938 with the Cubs, per the News & Observer (Raleigh, N.C.).
