Tickets to Omaha have been punched.

The 2022 College World Series picture is solidifying: Just two teams remain waiting to make it to the eight-team field on Monday, and this year's edition of the

The super regional stage of the NCAA baseball tournament saw three ranked teams upset, including the best team in the land: Tennessee was handed a stunning loss at the hands of the Fighting Irish on Sunday, thus ending the bid of the country's best — and most controversial — team.

Other ranked squads being handed a loss: the No. 10-ranked Tar Heels, who were sent packing by Arkansas; No. 4 Virginia Tech, who was ousted by Oklahoma and; No. 11 Southern Mississippi, who were upended by Ole Miss.

It's been a wild tournament so far. Here's what you need to know about the field:

Who is in the College World Series in 2022?

The College World Series bracket has now been filled out, with Stanford and Auburn winning their respective winner-take-all games Monday.

No. 3 Texas A&M

Perhaps the best name in this year's College World Series belongs to Aggies coach Jim Schlossnagle. He's more than just a fun name, though: Schlossnagle has helped transform the Aggies into a College World Series contender once again after five College World Series appearances as coach of TCU.

In his first year at the helm, Schlossnagle had big shoes to fill, with the school opting to move on from Rob Childress following the 2022 season. The Aggies, though, have continued their winning ways, with an appearance in the CWS in Schlossnagle's first season.

Notre Dame

The Fighting Irish did the near impossible by downing the No. 1 team in the country, Tennessee, to punch their ticket to the College World Series. To make matters more interesting, Tennessee was 49-0 when leading after six innings this season, blowing their first game in the deciding game of the series.

Notre Dame last made the College World Series in 2002, and has yet to win a NCAA championship in baseball.

Oklahoma

The Sooners are angling for their third College World Series victory, and their first since 1994.

After failures in the Big 12 tournament in 2021 and 2019, head coach Skip Johnson made good on Oklahoma's return to the NCAA baseball tournament, reaching the College World Series, knocking off No. 4 ranked Virginia Tech in the process.

Oklahoma swept its way through the Big 12 tournament after being considered to be one of the lesser teams in the conference to start the year, and continued its hot stretch all the way to Omaha.

Texas

Texas is back? Well, at least in Omaha.

The Longhorns drubbed East Carolina on Sunday to head to their 38th College World Series. They've won six national titles, with their last coming in 2005.

Texas has been powered all season by Big 12 Player of the Year Ivan Melendez, who belted his 32nd home run of the season vs. the Pirates on Sunday. Melendez was a selection of the Marlins in the 2021 MLB Draft, but opted to return to Texas for his junior season.

Arkanas

The Omahogs are back.

Head coach David Van Horn is no stranger to Charles Schwab Field in Nebraska: Under his watch, the Razorbacks have made it to the College World Series seven times since 2003.

They finished runner up to the Adley Rutschman-led Oregon State Beavers in 2018, and they're still searching for that elusive College World Series victory.

Ole Miss

The Rebels didn't have to travel too far for their super regional matchup, downing Southern Mississippi in two games to make it to their sixth College World Series.

Ole Miss is making good on their hot finish to the 2022 season: Making it into the NCAA tournament as the nation's last at-large bid, the Rebels knocked off Arizona, Miami and Southern Miss to make it to the College World Series. Quite the turnaround, after going 7-14 in conference play and edging dangerously close to missing out on this year's NCAA tournament.

Stanford

The Cardinal overcame a 3-0 first inning deficit against Connecticut to punch its ticket to Omaha. Stanford won 10-5, courtesy of a six-run fourth inning in which Stanford nearly batted around the order, punctuated by a grand slam from Kody Huff.

Stanford now enters the College World Series as the highest seed to do so, having been ranked No. 2 behind Tennessee. They will open against Arkansas on Saturday.

Stanford is now 47-16 on the season, including a 21-9 record in conference play. Although Super Regionals came down to the wire, expect a confident team heading into Saturday.

Auburn

The Tigers eked out a 4-3 win over the Oregon State Beavers to get into their sixth College World Series despite being outhit 8-3 for the game.

The win came thanks in no small part to closer Blake Burkhalter, who tossed an eight-out save to secure the win for the Tigers.

Auburn was a massive underdog coming into this season, and was thought to be one of the weaker teams in the SEC West. It defied the odds to get to this position time and time again, but it leaned on its bullpen to secure this impressive win. Now it will be going up against Ole Miss, another team that outperformed its prediction.
