While the World Baseball Classic has been in action for a few days now, Canada gets its first crack in the international competition Sunday.
Canada faces Great Britain to open up its play in Pool C of the 2023 tournament. The group is playing its games at Chase Field in Arizona, home of the Diamondbacks.
The country is aiming to improve upon its last showing at the WBC, which was an 0-3 effort in 2017, failing to advance out of pool play.
It's another tough battle this time around. Canada is in a group that includes the United States, Mexico, Colombia and Great Britain. There isn't a ton of star power on the team, but Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman leads the way for Canada.
