Bill Walton is performance art/self-parody whenever he's broadcasting a game, and it turns out that's the case regardless of the sport he's observing.

The basketball commentator tried his hand at baseball Friday night, working with White Sox play-by-play man Jason Benetti in Anaheim, Calif. It was about what you would expect, if you've watched Walton do his hardwood shtick.

It appears that MLB Twitter was smitten with the tie-dyed one:

For the record, Benetti didn't walk into this situation cold; he worked a college basketball game with Walton on ESPN at the Maui Invitational last November.

Still, Walton's regular ESPN partner, Dave Pasch, offered moral support just the same:
