Best MLB prop bets today: SuperDraft player prop picks for Friday 8/18 image

TGIF! Friday night means MLB returns to a full slate after a sleepy Thursday with just four evening games. It also means we have plenty of opportunity to capitalize on the player prop market on SuperDraft, and hopefully enter the weekend with some prop parlay winnings.

There's something for everyone this evening, including divisional rivalries like the Red Sox-Yankees and Diamondbacks-Padres. Atlanta will host a pitcher's duel between Cy Young candidate Spencer Strider and All Star Alex Cobb, while the Rays-Angels game could be a slugfest with both Erasmo Ramirez and Tyler Anderson hovering north of 5.25 ERAs.

Let's have some fun on SuperDraft! Sign up today to pick your favorite over/unders via SD's Fantasy Props feature, bringing you closer to the action while having a chance to win cash prizes.  Win 3X the amount wagered if your two-legged player prop parlay hits, and watch your potential payout rise with each additional leg you pile onto your parlay.

Below, we'll break down four of our favorite player props on SuperDraft for Friday night's MLB slate. Users don't necessarily have to parlay all four picks together, though. Instead, you could make separate two-legged parlays to increase your win probability or attempt to hit it big if all four picks come through.

Best MLB prop bets today: SuperDraft player prop picks for Friday 8/11

*10x potential payout if users parlay all four correct picks

1. Mookie Betts, 2B/OF, Dodgers vs. Marlins — OVER 7 fantasy points (4/5 confidence)

Last night, we smash-bet Pete Alonso OVER 6.5 fantasy points as our favorite SuperDraft prop of the night. The Mets slugger responded with a home run and two RBIs, good for 12 fantasy points. We'll take it! Tonight, we're looking to another superstar to lead our prop parlay: Markus Lynn Betts.

Mookie has been torrid all season, but he's been especially brilliant since the calendar flipped to August. The seven-time All-Star has recorded a hit in 14 of the Dodgers' 15 games this month and multiple hits in 10 of 15. He also has 13 RBIs and 17 runs and a slash line of .410/.471/.705 in that span.

The cherry on top: Mookie has five hits — including a home run and a double — in 11 career at-bats against Marlins projected starter Sandy Alcantara. Miami's reigning Cy Young winner has disappointed virtually all season, surrendering more than three runs in 10 of his 24 starts and seven or more baserunners a whopping 17 times. Play Mookie's OVER with confidence tonight.

For anyone unfamiliar with how fantasy points work in baseball, here's the skinny:

Stat Pts per
Singles 2
Doubles 4
Triples 6
Home Runs 8
RBIs 2
Runs 2
Hitter Walks 2
Stolen Bases 3
Hit By Pitch 2

2. Paul Goldschmidt, 1B, Cardinals vs. Mets — OVER 0.5 singles (4/5 confidence)

Goldy always feels like a good bet on the player prop market — he's a Hall-of-Fame batter and above-average baserunner who never wavers with his fundamentals or approach. Tonight, we really like the first baseman, as he's batting .500 and slugging .938 lifetime against the Mets' Joey Lucchesi. What? Those numbers look made up!

Do not adjust your laptop resolution — those stats are realer than Real Deal Holyfield, and all you Goldy bettors are 'bout to know just how I feel! In 16 career at-bats against the Mets southpaw, Goldschmidt has eight hits, including five singles, two homers, and a double. Lord a' mercy. Fire this one up like Snoop and Dave Chappelle in the '90s.

3. Nolan Arenado, 3B, Cardinals vs. Mets — OVER 6 fantasy points (3.5/5 confidence)

Arenado also sees Lucchesi well historically, posting a .364 average and .909 slugging percentage lifetime against the lefty. Over his past three games, he has six hits, including a double and a homer, and three RBIs.

We were tempted to go with OVER 1.5 bases here, but ultimately OVER six fantasy points seems like the easier bar to set for the eight-time All-Star and five-time Silver Slugger. That way we don't get screwed if he hits one RBI single, scores a run, and draws two walks (which adds up to 10 points but just one total base).

4. Ty France, 1B/3B, Mariners at Astros — OVER 0.5 singles (3/5 confidence)

We don't like this one as much as the other three props, but France does have two singles in three at-bats against fellow Frenchman J.P. France. So, in the Battle of France vs. France, we're going with Ty to prevail with at least one hit.

The Mariners' veteran has seen the ball well over the past couple of weeks, batting .308 with 12 hits in that span, and he has been mashing four-seamers and off-speed pitches all season. J.P. throws either his fastball or cutter 62.8 percent of the time.
