Best MLB prop bets today: SuperDraft player prop picks for Tuesday 8/29 image

Baseball is often a grind. It's a long season, with long games and many long nights in what can be a frustrating sport to bet on. On most nights, Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani wreak havoc on their opponents. Monday wasn't that night.

Every once in a while, you get a gift from the betting gods, and luckily for us, a game with a high total emerged at the right time to provide us with some offense. Going 2-for-4 with our Monday picks makes for a fine batting average, but we aren't in it to be just fine. Wendy's created the 4-for-$4 not so you just get two items, but four of them.

All 30 MLB teams are in action Tuesday night, meaning we have options galore at SuperDraft to find some winners as the week continues. With that in mind, here are four picks for Tuesday night.

Sign up for SuperDraft to pick your favorite over/unders via SuperDraft's Fantasy Props feature, bringing you closer to the action while having a chance to win cash prizes. Win 3X the amount wagered if your two-legged player prop parlay hits, and watch your potential payout rise with each additional leg you pile onto your parlay.

Below, we'll break down four of our favorite player props on SuperDraft for Tuesday night's MLB slate. Users don't necessarily have to parlay all four picks together, though. Instead, you could make separate two-legged parlays to increase your win probability or attempt to hit it big if all four picks come through.

Yordan Alvarez, OF, Astros @ Red Sox - OVER 0.5 singles

We'll kick things off at Fenway Park in Boston, the site of a matchup between two teams that are tearing the cover off the ball. Alvarez is coming off a four-hit game on Monday night with three singles. He has also hit for a single in all three games against Boston in the past week.

Against Red Sox starter Brayan Bello on Thursday, Alvarez went 1-for-3 with a walk in what has been his only prior matchup to this point. With hits in five of the past six and multi-hit games in four of them, Alvarez is a good bet to do some damage with the bat again tonight in a game with a high total of around 10.5 total runs at various other sportsbooks.

Rafael Devers, 3B, Red Sox vs. Astros - OVER 1.5 bases

With a high total, it only makes sense to double dip in Boston. Like a Fenway Frank, one just wouldn't be enough. Devers couldn't muster up a hit last night, but yesterday's loss is today's gain. The third baseman still sits in prime position in the Red Sox lineup and has one hit in two at-bats against Astros starter, J.P. France.

Fans might remember France for being the subject of Boston's 17-1 drubbing of Houston last week. France, a big part of Houston's problem, gave up 10 runs in just 2.1 innings. Devers had two hits in that contest. France is throwing his fastball just over 36 percent of the time, and Devers has handled fastballs pretty well this season, batting .283 and slugging .538 when seeing them. Those numbers are both below the expected numbers of .292 and .609, indicating some positive regression might be in store after two hitless nights for Devers.

Gavin Williams, SP, Guardians @ Twins - UNDER 6.5 strikeouts

Williams is just 12 starts into his big-league career. He has shown the ability to rack up strikeouts in two double-digit punch-out performances. That said, in nine starts, he's also gone UNDER this number, and he's coming off a start in which he allowed seven runs in just 4.1 innings.

The Twins have struck out a lot this season, leading the league at 27.1 percent, but Williams has only gone over five innings in five of the 12 outings. Asking him to find seven strikeouts in about 15 outs is nearly doubling his average for the season. The starter can certainly hit this number, but it's hard to get behind 6.5 when the number really should be set at 5.5. With it being a strikeout too high, take the UNDER.

Julio Rodriguez, OF, Mariners vs. Athletics - OVER 0.5 singles

Rodriguez is so ready for the fall that he just can't stop raking. The outfielder has a hit in 13 straight games, the longest active streak in MLB after Mookie Betts saw his impressive run end last night. Rodriguez is slashing .516/.552/.855 in that span, as the Mariners have re-entered the postseason conversation.

With a single in five straight against the A's, Rodriguez is batting .396 with 36 hits in 23 games against the club from Oakland. With all of that in mind, there's no reason to fade one of the hottest hitters in the sport right now.
