Aaron Sanchez injury update: Astros pitcher out for season, facing shoulder surgery image

Astros right-hander Aaron Sanchez will miss the rest of the season and is scheduled to undergo shoulder surgery next week, GM Jeff Luhnow told reporters Thursday.

Sanchez originally went on the 10-day injured list Aug. 21 with right pectoral discomfort.

Acquired from the Blue Jays at the trade deadline, Sanchez impressed in his first two starts with Houston, giving up one earned run in 11 innings and striking out 12. But he struggled in his last two starts, yielding nine earned runs in eight innings.

He finishes the year with a 5-14 mark and 5.89 ERA.
