It seems to be an adventure whenever a ball is hit to New York Yankees top prospect Jasson Dominguez.
Expected to take over the starting left field position with Alex Verdugo still available on the free agent market, Dominguez hasn't done much to quell any concerns about his defense.
Naturally a center fielder, Dominguez has been working in left field due to the acquisition of former MVP Cody Bellinger, who is expected to take on everyday duties in center following the team's offseason trade to acquire him.
Dominguez struggled in left field during the month of September when he was called up from Triple-A. It was a small sample so fans found ways to convince themselves that it may not be an issue moving forward.
Through the first week of spring training, however, Dominguez has again proven to be a liability in left field — a position that can be notoriously difficult at Yankee Stadium.
Despite the 22-year-old's status as a high-end prospect, Yankees fans are reaching their limits watching him struggle defensively. Meanwhile, fans of other MLB teams can't help but rejoice.
Granted, it's still very early in Dominguez's career and there's a chance the Yankees move him back to center field. Either way, the top prospect in the organization needs to show some tangible improvement with four weeks to go until Opening Day.
