Butler has been stellar in Miami, averaging 20.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.9 steals per game over two seasons. He led the Heat on a spirited run to the NBA Finals in 2020, averaging 26.2 points, 9.8 assists, 8.3 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game in the championship round.
In the team's two victories on the Finals stage, Butler recorded a 40-point triple-double and 35-point triple-double.
Butler was an All-Star and All-NBA Third Team selection in 2019-20, then led the NBA in steals while earning All-Defence Second Team and All-NBA Third Team honours in 2020-21.
The Heat are expected to be among the busiest teams during this free agency period, and their first order of business was to lock down their franchise player. Stick with NBA.com to see what else is to come out of South Beach this offseason.
