Vinsanity Scale: Ja Morant hits the jetpack in Brooklyn with high-flying dunk image

Welcome to the Vinsanity Scale! In honour of one of the greatest in-game dunkers in NBA history, the Vinsanity Scale rates dunks on a scale of 1-4. Similar to the  Horry Scale , the dunk in question is graded on the game situation, difficulty and celebration to answer one question: Would it make Half Man, Half Amazing proud?

The dunk

Game situation

The Grizzlies led by 10 points, before Morant took flight for the emphatic jam as part of a dominant third quarter.

Memphis took control of the game with a 40-point quarter which included a 25-8 run over the final 6:31. Morant, who scored 18 of his 36 points in the third and was everywhere for the Grizzlies as they seized control of the game to take a 96-73 lead heading into the fourth.

Difficulty

Very. This is just sheer athleticism.

With three Nets defenders in the key, not a single one of them could do anything about it once Morant took off after taking it coast-to-coast.

The young D-Rose/Westbrook vibes are written all over this jam.

James Johnson made a smart business decision here.

Reaction

Johnson quickly inbounded the ball to Durant and got on with things pretty quickly, while the Barclays Center crowd erupted!

Meanwhile, the Grizzlies bench was loving every second of it as they all got off their feet in awe of their high-flying point guard.

Vinsanity Scale

Morant has thrown down better dunks in his career, but there are few players in the league who can make it down the floor at this speed and detonate with the same ferocity as Morant. I give it Four Vinsanitys.
