The league has already been notified according to the report, but James' jersey chose is yet to be known.

While in Miami, LeBron wore No. 6 as the No. 23 he wore in Cleveland was retired paying respect to Michael Jordan, who never played for the franchise. The Lakers have an abundance of retired jerseys which includes numbers 8, 13, 22, 24, 25, 32, 33, 34, 42, 44 and 52.

Davis has worn No. 23 for his entire seven-year career in the league and also his one season at Kentucky.

The deal that sent Davis to Los Angeles from New Orleans won't be completed until July 6 when the new league year begins.
