Luis Garcia is confident Liverpool will fight to win the Premier League this season.
The Reds have made a strong start to the new campaign, winning their opening four league games under Jurgen Klopp's stewardship.
Liverpool's title credentials will be put to the test when they travel to Wembley to take on Tottenham on Saturday.
And although Garcia says it is "too soon" for Liverpool to start thinking about winning the title, he does believe they have the quality to compete for it.
He said: "We’ve had a great start to the season and I'm sure the team will be fighting for it [the title], but it's too soon to start thinking about it.
"Of course, it has to be the aim, but focussing on each game at a time will help to achieve the all-important goals."
Leading Liverpool's charge for their first league crown since 1990 are the star trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
All three players have made a good start to the new campaign and Garcia says he loves watching them in tandem.
He continued: "We have lots of really great players at the moment and it’s exciting to watch our strikers - Salah, Mane, Firmino and now Keita all look very skilful and I love to see them play."
Garcia played for Liverpool between 2004 and 2007 and was part of the side which famously lifted the Champions League in 2005.
The Spaniard notably scored against Chelsea in the semi-finals of the tournament but his quarter-final strike against Juventus remains his favourite effort in a Liverpool shirt.
"I’ve always liked the goal against Chelsea in the 2005 Champions League semi-finals, because of what it meant for us," he added.
"But, I’d probably say the goal against Juventus was the nicest one.
"Playing against Chelsea in the semi-finals was a great moment, but winning the Champions League final in 2005 and lifting the Cup was definitely the best moment."
