L.A. Galaxy forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic was shown a red card in the first half of Monday's game against the Montreal Impact.

The Sweden international got the red card after video review, which showed Ibrahimovic slap Michael Petrasso on the back of the head after Petrasso appeared to step on Ibrahimovic's foot.

Petrasso was handed a yellow card for his infraction, and Ibrahimovic was left limping off the pitch with a red card. According to Opta, it is his first red card in a league match since Nov. 3, 2012, when he was a member of Paris Saint-Germain.

The Galaxy went on to win Monday 1-0. They now have eight regular-season wins since 2010 when receiving at least one red card, tied for fourth most in MLS.

The Galaxy have struggled since Ibrahimovic's arrival from Manchester United, but the prolific striker did score a brace in his team debut on March 31.
