The star striker of the USMNT U-17 side is looking forward to a good match against India…
Josh Sargent, who is to join Germany’s Werder Bremen in January next year, believes that his team wouldn’t find it too difficult to adjust to the Indian conditions.
USMNT face the Indian test on Friday evening at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi. Sargent travelled with the USA team last year to the All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) Youth Cup.
“We have residency programme back home in Florida where the weather is very hot. That’s very good to prepare for this condition. We got acclimatized to the weather. Everybody will be alright,” he mentioned.
“I did have experience of playing India last year. It was very nice for me to experience. I know India will be ready. They will be excited because of this being their first World Cup. It will be a very good match,” he added.
Sargent, who because the youngest US player to score in an Under-20 World Cup, was asked to share his thoughts on Luis Norton de Matos’ team.
“I would like to say that India is a good team. I know our team is ready and hope it will be good match.”
