The All India Football Federation (AIFF) is leaving no stone unturned in order to ensure the India Under-17 team gets the best possible exposure ahead of the Under-17 World Cup in October this year.

The India U-17 football team will visit the United States of America as a part of their preparations before participating in a youth tournament in Mexico wherein they shall compete against the likes of Chile and Colombia.

“Our Under-17 Indian team will travel to the US in July where we are in talks to play against their Under-17 national team. We will also play a tournament in Mexico where some top teams will participate,” informed the AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das to Goal.

Thereafter, the team is set to travel to Australia where they will play matches against New Caledonia and New Zealand.

With less than 100 days to go for the World Cup, playing friendly matches against the top sides in the world would surely benefit Luis Norton de Matos' young brigade.

The Indian side is currently in Europe as a part of their exposure trip. Their performance has been pretty impressive as they pulled off quite a few positive results in their favour.

They recently thrashed Spanish side Alcala 11-1 which will surely boost their morale. They had also played matches against the youth teams of top European clubs like SLC Benfica and Sporting Lisbon.

The Boys in Blue had previously played against some of the big names in world football. They participated in the BRICS U-17 tournament where they got to play against Brazil, Russia, China and South Africa.

Since the arrival of Portuguese coach Luis Matos the performance graph of the Indian side has only gone uphill. The youngsters are unbeaten in their last nine matches.
