A pivotal Group B match awards USA and Czechia today, as a win for either club could shift the balance of power in the group standings.

The United States are coming off the heels of a 11-3 win over Switzerland after a 4-1 victory over Norway in the first game of the tournament. Jimmy Snuggerud scored three times against Switzerland, while Gavin Brindley scored twice in both of the Americans' wins. This team also features some top NHL prospects in Cutter Gauthier, Will Smith, Ryan Leonard and Lane Hutson.

Czechia, meanwhile, responded nicely after a huge tournament-opening loss to Slovakia. They cruised past Norway, 8-1, behind three goals from Jiri Kulich and Eduard Sale. Those two are the key members of the Czech squad, alongside fellow lineman Matyas Sapovaliv goalie Michael Hrabal.

The Americans and Czechs are both looking to avenge their finishes in the 2023 tournament. The U.S. took home the bronze, while Czechia was the runner-up to Canada. USA last won in 2021, 2017 and 2013, while Czechia hasn't won since back-to-back golds in 2000 and 2001.
