Report: John Wall and Houston Rockets working together on trade image

John Wall's time with the Houston Rockets could be coming to an end.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Wall and the Rockets have "agreed on working together to find a new home for the five-time All-Star."

The plan is for Wall to be around the Rockets entering training camp but to not play in any games for Houston this season, Charania adds.

Wall appeared in 40 games with the Rockets last season, averaging 20.6 points, 6.9 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.1 steals on .404/.317/.749 shooting splits. He has two years and $91.7 million remaining on his contract, the second year of which is a player option worth $47.4 million. There are "no buyout plans" according to Charania.

The No. 1 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, Wall is a five-time All-Star and one-time All-NBA Third Team selection. He's battled injuries over the last few seasons. Wall underwent a season-ending "debridement and repair of a Haglund’s deformity and a chronic Achilles tendon injury in his left heel" in 2018-19, limiting him to 32 games. He then missed the entire 2019-20 season after rupturing his left Achilles tendon.

The Rockets acquired Wall and a future first-round pick from the Washington Wizards in exchange for Russell Westbrook in 2020.
