By The Numbers: Houston Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. makes history with 50-point double-double image

Who saw that coming?

Not only did the Houston Rockets stun the Milwaukee Bucks 143-136, but they did it on the back of a 50-point, 11-assist performance from Kevin Porter Jr.

The 20-year-old guard was simply unstoppable, using a monster second half to fuel the come-from-behind win for the Rockets.

Let's dive into some of the numbers...

50-10

Finishing with 50 points and 11 assists, Porter became just the second player in Rockets franchise history to produce a 50-10 game.

Do we even need to tell you who the other guy was?

Of course, it was James Harden.

Additionally, Porter became the youngest player in NBA history to produce a 50-10 game.

21

Porter's 21st birthday is on May 4, with this performance proving to be quite the birthday gift.

In producing a 50-point game before turning 21, he joins LeBron James (2), Devin Booker and Brandon Jennings as the only players in NBA history to achieve the feat.

Trailing 73-65 entering the second half, it seemed as though the game was going to end with Milwaukee cruising to victory on the road against the lowly Rockets.

Porter had other ideas, however, exploding for 32 of his 50 in the second half on 10-for-16 shooting from the field and 6-for-9 from beyond the arc.

Shooting just 28 percent from long range on the season, Porter's perimeter barrage could hardly have been expected.

Burying nine triples, he eclipsed his previous career-best of six, which came during the 2019-20 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"Once a scorer gets that rhythm you've just got to keep being aggressive and they're gonna all fall," Porter said in a postgame interview. "I felt good tonight, I needed this one, my team kept me confident and we came out and got the win."
