The most famous and historic horse race in the United Kingdom takes place this weekend for the 174th time.
The Aintree Grand National Festival will be held across three days, from Thursday to Saturday, with the Grand National race itself happening on Saturday, April 9th.
Last year's winner, Minella Times, will race again with record-breaking jockey Rachael Blackmore, while Snow Leopardess is among the favourites to become the first mare to win in more than half a century.

The Grand National is a horse race held annually since 1839, with 30 challenging fences for horses to jump over two laps and a total distance of four miles and two and a half furlongs (more than seven kilometres).

What is the Grand National's prize fund?
The Grand National's prize fund totals £1 million, with over half of that — £561,300 — going to the winning owners and then £211,100 going to the second-placed horse's owners. The jockeys will get a percentage of that prize money.

The favourites to win this year's Grand National according to Sky Bet are Snow Leopardess (7/1), Any Second Now (8/1) and Delta Work (8/1). Last year's winner Minella Times is also moderately fancied, with the odds currently at 12/1.
