Jon Rahm and Ryan Palmer entered the final round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans as co-leaders. But, by the end of the day, the two would sit alone atop the leaderboard.

The PGA Tour team event, held at TPC Louisiana, had an interesting start. A seven-plus hour delay caused the first three rounds to piggy back off each other. But by the time play was back on schedule Saturday, the team of Rahm and Palmer made their way into first place.

While Sunday's final round wasn't as masterful as the third that put them into contention, Rahm and Palmer distanced themselves from the field behind four birdies. Their lone bogey on the par-4 sixth hole was the pairs' only hiccup.

They finished 26 under for the tournament. The victory means Rahm has now won in each of the last three seasons on tour while Palmer claimed his first since 2010.

Despite Rahm and Palmer never falling out of first place, there was still plenty of movement behind them on the leaderboard.

Sergio Garcia and Tommy Fleetwood climbed their way into second place behind a Garcia birdie putt on the par-3 17. They had three more birdies and one eagle to get to 23 under.

Kyoung-Hoon Lee and Matt Every moved into a tie for third place (21 under) with Brian Gay and Rory Sabbatini. Roberto Castro and Cameron Tringale highlighted the four-way tie for fifth place (20 under).

The leaderboard also included a four-way tie for ninth place (19 under) that featured Ian Poulter and Sam Horsfield.

The 54-hole co-leaders Scott Stallings and Trey Mullinax fell into a tie for 13th place (18 under) after their round was plagued with four bogeys and one double bogey.
