Tiger Woods is taking a week off from his 2019 tournament schedule, opting to skip the Valspar Championship in favor of next week's WGC-Match Play, and it's a lighter field overall as the PGA Tour continues its Florida swing at the Innisbrook Resort.

Woods, who finished tied for 30th at The Players Championship, nearly won the Valspar in 2018, providing the first glimpse of success early in his comeback tour while losing by one stroke after missing birdie on the 72nd hole. He'll play one more tune-up tournament before The Masters in April.

This year's field is decidedly less interesting in Woods' absence but still includes seven of the world's top 20 players, headlined by No. 1 Dustin Johnson.

Johnson is making just his second career start in the tournament. He's joined by Paul Casey, the defending champion who edged out Woods in 2018, Jon Rahm, Jason Day, Henrik Stenson, Patrick Reed, Sergio Garcia and Bubba Watson, to name a few.
