Tiger Woods' score in Sunday's final round of the British Open needed to resemble that of his round the day prior when he shot up the leaderboard. It did not, and Tiger failed to capture his first major championship since 2008.
Following a pair of ho-hum rounds at even par through Days 1 and 2 at Carnoustie, Woods on Saturday carded a 5-under 66 with six birdies and moved into a tie for fifth place after starting third round in 29th. On Sunday, he shot an even 71 despite a couple birdies on the front nine that game him at least a share of the lead for about an hour. He went into the clubhouse in a tie for seventh, five under for the tournament.

Things fell apart for Woods on 11, where he earned a double bogey. Another bogey on 12 resulted in too deep of a hole. Woods, though, played well enough for most of Sunday's final round to generate chatter on social media.
"I made a few mistakes there," Woods said of 11 and 12, via NBC's broadcast. "Grass grabbed the shaft on both of them.
"I figured I'd have to get to (nine) under. Didn't do it."
Below are highlights from Tiger's fourth and final round at The Open Championship.
