How to watch Tiger Woods' return, at the 2018 Farmers Insurance Open

Tiger Woods will begin his quest to play perhaps a full golf schedule in 2018 when he tees off in the Farmers Insurance Open on Thursday, Jan. 25. 

Woods has played in one no-cut, limited-field tournament since missing 10 months of action following a fourth back surgery. He finished ninth at that event, the Hero World Challenge, held in December in the Bahamas.

The Farmers Insurance Open, played at Torrey Pines, is a full-field PGA Tour event, with a cut after 36 holes, which should give a better indicator of where Tiger is with his game. He looked healthy but rusty at the Hero World Challenge.

Interestingly, Woods' last major tournament win — the 2008 U.S. Open — came at Torrey Pines, where he also won the Farmers in 1999, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2013.

"I was very encouraged by my performance at the Hero World Challenge, and hope it was the start of something big," the 14-time major winner wrote in a blog published on his website. "I honestly wasn't sure what to expect after being away from competitive golf and came away excited about my health and my game."

2018 Farmers Insurance Open tee times

Tiger Woods, who will be grouped with Charley Hoffman and Patrick Reed for Rounds 1-2, will tee off at 1:40 p.m. Thursday from No. 1, and 12:30 p.m. Friday from No. 10.
