Tiger Woods returns to full-field, competitive golf Thursday, teeing off at 1:40 p.m. ET with Patrick Reed and Charley Hoffman at the PGA Tour's Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.

It's been exactly one year since Woods was last seen on the PGA Tour, when he missed the cut at the same event. He tees off in the same group at 12:30 p.m. ET Friday with the field being trimmed after 36 holes.
Woods, 42, was out early Tuesday for a practice round on the South Course at Torrey Pines.

Woods' most recent competitive play was at December's limited-field, no-cut Hero World Challenge, where he shot three rounds in the 60s but showed some signs of rust on and around the greens.
Still, he has recorded eight career victories at Torrey, including his most recent major title, the 2008 U.S. Open.

The 14-time major champion has endured four back surgeries since 2014, but Woods has seemed more optimistic this time around after taking it slow with his recovery.
Woods has not won a PGA Tour event since 2013 (he won five that year) and hasn't recorded a top 10 on the PGA Tour since 2015. Regardless, golf, and the sporting world, is a little more lively when Woods is competing especially in an event like this week's that boasts one of the season's strongest non-major fields on one of the most iconic courses in America.

Tiger Woods, who will be grouped with Charley Hoffman and Patrick Reed for Rounds 1-2, will tee off at 1:40 p.m. Thursday from No. 1, and 12:30 p.m. Friday from No. 10.
