To those who followed Scottie Scheffler in the weeks leading up to the Masters, the 27-year-old might feel inevitable.
Scheffler has been dominant in 2024, winning two PGA Tour events and finishing second in another in the month of March alone. In an era without a definitive face of the sport beyond aging stars, Scheffler is making his case.
The majors define a legacy when all is said and done. Scheffler has the talent and the composure, but it won't be until he starts stacking some more major wins that he enters the same conversation as the greats. Sunday represented a massive opportunity for Scheffler to capture a win that could pad his legacy for years to come as he seeks another Masters victory, and he did not miss it.
Scheffler went 4 under in the final round of the 2024 Masters, claiming the victory by four strokes over Ludvig Abergo. It represented the latest major win in the young career of Scheffler.
Here's a look back at Scheffler's history at the Masters and other majors entering 2024.

Has Scottie Scheffler won the Masters?
Scheffler won the 2022 Masters, and with his win in 2024, he became the 18th man to win more than one Masters Tournament. He is one of four golfers with multiple Masters wins in the 21st century.
While Scheffler was on the rise when he won at Augusta in 2022, expectations weren't what they are now. He vaulted himself onto the national stage with a comfortable win over the rest of the field, finishing three strokes ahead of Rory McIlroy and five ahead of both Cameron Smith and Shane Lowry.
Repeat winners have been tough to find at the Masters over the last decade. Tiger Woods (2019) and Bubba Watson (2014) are the last two Masters champions who already had a victory in their careers. Jordan Spieth, Danny Willett, Sergio Garcia, Patrick Reed, Dustin Johnson, Hideki Matsuyama, Scheffler himself and Jon Rahm were all first-time champions over the last decade.
When was Scottie Scheffler's last major win?
The 2022 and 2024 Masters mark the only major wins of Scheffler's career, despite his great success to this point.
Despite just the two wins, Scheffler hasn't struggled in majors. He's made the cut in 14 of his last 15 major appearances, including this year's Masters, and finished in the top 10 in three of four majors in 2023. Scheffler has made himself plenty of money with high finishes in majors, but there's no doubt championships in golf's premier events are a priority in 2024.
The win at Augusta positions Scheffler to enter the PGA Championship as the odds-on favorite in May, potentially positioning himself to kick off the 2024 calendar in a major way.
