MORE: How does Ryder cup scoring work?

Ryder Cup 2021 purse

There has never been prize money for the Ryder Cup that goes directly to the players. Whichever team wins receives money to donate towards their charities of choice. Those donations then get put in each golfer's name.

The exact purse amount hasn't been announced for this year, but in 2018, Team USA sent around $2.85 million to communities even though they lost. The biggest prize of the Ryder Cup is bragging rights for the next two years.

Ryder Cup odds for 2021

Team USA (-165) is favored to win the Ryder Cup over Team Europe (+210), accoring to the FanDuel sportsbook. Jon Rahm leads the odds for combined (+700) scoring and among Team Europe (+380). Justin Thomas has the best odds (+650) to lead Team USA in scoring.

Where is the 2021 Ryder Cup?

The 2021 Ryder Cup will be held at Whistling Straits Golf Course in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. Whistling Straits has held the PGA Championship three previous times (2004, 2010, 2015), but this is the first Ryder Cup there.

  • Par: 72
  • Distance: 7,201 yards
