One year after the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the tournament, the Players Championship is back.

A star-studded field will compete at the TPC Sawgrass course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., starting with Round 1 on Thursday. While the Players Championship isn't one of the four majors, it is considered the first big tournament of 2021 and should provide plenty of excitement all weekend long for golf fans.

Watch the 2021 Players Championship

TV coverage of the 2021 Players Championship will be split between the Golf Channel (Thursday and Friday) and NBC (Saturday and Sunday). You can also stream the Players Championship via PGA Tour Live.

Who is in the 2021 Players Championship field?

The 2021 Players Championship field features defending champion Rory McIlroy, who beat runner-up Jim Furyk by one stroke in 2019. McIlroy will be battling the likes of Bryson DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson, Collin Morikawa, Jordan Spieth and more at TPC Sawgrass.

Notably, Tiger Woods will not be part of the field as he recovers from injuries that he sustained in a single-car crash last month. Brooks Koepka will also miss the tournament with a knee injury.
