There was no 54-hole curse for Dustin Johnson at the Masters on Sunday.

The world's top-ranked golfer finally came through to win his second-ever major, carding a fourth round score of 4-under 68 to take home his first green jacket. He finished the 2020 Masters at 20 under, a tournament record; that is two strokes better than the previous tournament record, set by Tiger Woods in 1997 and tied by Jordan Spieth in 2015. Johnson also set a Masters record by recording only four bogeys, the fewest ever by a Masters champion.

Still, Johnson's champion status was far from certain when he started his round on Sunday: after scoring a birdie on Hole 3, he bogeyed the next two to fall to 15 under for the round, giving him just a one-stroke lead over Sungjae Im at 14 under. Johnson birdied two holes later to finish even for the front nine. He carded four straight pars before hitting three straight birdies on Holes 13 through 15, netting him his eventual final score.

He finished with a back-nine score of 33. In all, he hit 16 of 18 greens on Sunday, and 14 of 14 fairways. Im and Cameron Smith finished tied for second at 15 under, followed by Justin Thomas in fourth place at 12 under.

Sunday's final round proved a fantastic finish for Johnson, but he wasn't the only one with a great final round at Augusta. Sporting News tracked updates and highlights from Sunday at the 2020 Masters. Check out the complete results from the Round 4 leaderboard:

Masters updates, highlights from Sunday's Round 4

2:52 p.m.: And Im hits par on the final shot of the day to finish tied for second at 15 under. That'll do it for the 2020 Masters.

2:51 p.m.: And there it is. Dustin Johnson gets a tap-in par to win the 2020 Masters at 20 under. That is the lowest score in Masters history.

2:38 p.m.: Another record Johnson is in contention for: the fewest bogeys by a Masters champion. If he doesn't bogey on his final hole of the day, he would set the record with four. Five players currently hold the top spot: Jimmy Demaret (1940); Jack Nicklaus (1965); Ben Crenshaw (1995); Phil Mickelson (2004); and Trevor Immelman (2008).

2:36 p.m.: Another par for Johnson. One last hole to make it official.

2:17 p.m.: There's a par for Johnson; assuming he doesn't suffer a similar fate as Tiger on Hole 12, it's in the bag.

2:08 p.m.: To his credit, Im is not giving up: He scores his own birdie on 15 to go to 15 under for the tournament.

2:06 p.m.: A third-straight birdie for Johnson on 15, who is now the first player to reach a score of 20 under in Masters history. These final three holes seem a mere formality at this point; the only thing in question is whether Johnson can maintain his record-breaking score.

1:45 p.m.: A second consecutive birdie for Johnson on 14. That moves him to 19 under, giving him a five-stroke lead over Im and Smith with just four holes to play. It would take a monumental meltdown for him to lose this commanding lead.

1:30 p.m.: That's another birdie for Johnson on the par-5 13th; that ties a course record at 18 under. Only Tiger Woods (1997) and Jordan Spieth (2015) have achieved that score. He still has five holes to go, too. More importantly, that lengthens his lead to four strokes over Im and Smith (both 14 under).

1:25 p.m.: Tiger finishes his Round 4 with a 4-over 76 to go 1 under for the tournament. His fourth round included six birdies, eight pars, three bogeys and that godforsaken septuple bogey.

12:34 p.m.: Dustin Johnson drops par at Hole 10 to keep his lead.

12:30 p.m.: Rory McIlroy in the sand at Hole 12, but drops in a decent shot to be able to make par.

12:15 p.m.: Im, at 13-under, drops in a par on Hole 9. That'll keep him in third place for now. Dustin Johnson keeps his two-shot lead through his first nine by dropping par on the ninth hole.

12:02 p.m.: Another birdie for Dustin Johnson on 8 gives him another stroke on his pursuers.

Noon: In other news, Tiger Woods just carded a septuple bogey on the par-3 12th hole. That's a 10, making him 3 over overall. Yikes.

11:27 a.m.: And there's another birdie by Smith to get back to within two of Johnson. He's 14 under through seven holes in the final round.

11:20 a.m.: Johnson gets the two-shot birdie on Hole 6 to get him back to 16 under. His lead's back to two.

11:09 a.m.: There's another bogey by Johnson on the par-4 fifth hole. He's now 15 under, giving him just a one-stroke lead over Im at 14 under. Im, 22, would give South Korea its first ever Masters champion if he can pull this off.

11 a.m.: Brooks Koepka may be a little too far behind to make a real run at the Masters championship, but chip-in birdies like this keep him in contention. That makes him 9 under overall.

10:52 a.m.: Johnson hits his first bogey of the day, and first since Hole 15 in Round 2. That puts his lead back to two strokes; we're setting up for a really tight finish.

10:45 p.m.: Here are Im's birdies on Holes 2 and 3 that drew him within three strokes of Johnson:

10:36 a.m.: And Johnson hits his first birdie of the day from 7 feet on on Hole 3. That puts him at 17 under, giving him a three-stroke lead over Smith and Sungjae Im (14 under).

10:27 a.m.: Cameron Smith birdies on Holes 2 and 3 to take sole command of second place at 14 under overall. That leaves him two strokes behind leader Dustin Johnson, who has two pars to start the day.

10 a.m.: And there's a third eagle for the fourth round, this one from Charl Schwartzel. This plus an earlier birdie gives him a score of 3-under 69 for the round. He's 6 under overall.

9:30 a.m.: Bryson DeChambeau eagles on Hole 13, getting a shot back after bogeying on the 10th to start Round 4. That puts him at 4 under overall:

8:54 a.m.: At roughly the same time Tiger missed an eagle opportunity, Marc Leishman hit this to go to 2 under for the day and 6 under overall:

8:54 a.m.: Ugh, Tiger's flop shot from the fringe went the entire length of the green on 2, but lipped out for what would have been an unbelievable eagle. Tiger looking surgical early.

8:32 a.m.: Also worth noting Tiger's wearing the red sweater again.

7:45 a.m.: Early fog at Augusta has forced tee time delays by 10 minutes. Not nearly as bad as the inclement weather from Thursday.
