Sunday's Masters was nothing short of a dream for Tiger Woods and his followers, as he earned his fifth green jacket but first in 14 years and claimed his first major title in 11 years.
But it was a pretty good Sunday for CBS, too.
Per the network on Monday: "Live coverage of the Masters final round delivered a 7.7/21 average household rating/share in the metered markets, the highest-rated morning golf broadcast in 34 years. Yesterday’s final round also is the highest-rated golf broadcast on any network since last year’s Masters final round."
CBS's coverage began at 9 a.m. ET, moved up from the usual afternoon coverage-start window because of impending storms.
According to CBS's analytics, the final round alone peaked with a 12.1/28 from 2:15-2:30 p.m. ET, around the time Woods was finishing off the emotional victory with a bogey at No. 18.

After the green jacket ceremony wrapped up, CBS aired an encore of the final rounds from 3-7 p.m. ET that drew in a rating of 3.4/8 rating/share. Even that rerun was the third-highest rated golf broadcast to date on any network this year, behind only the live third-round and final-round of the Masters in the metered markets.
