Day 3 of the U.S. Open is set to begin Saturday at the Shinnecock Hills in Southhampton, N.Y. with one particuarly noticable absence.
After a strong showing at the Memorial last weekend, Tiger Woods failed to make the cut, finishing the second round an abysmal 10 over par. However, there's still plenty of starpower remaining in the field with a trio of Americans, comprised of Dustin Johnson (-4), Scott Piercy and Charley Hoffman (E) sitting atop the leaderboard. American Brooks Koepka is tied for fourth with Englishmen Justin Rose at a stroke over par. Johnson and Piercy are set to tee off at 3:10 p.m. ET with Hoffman (2:59 p.m.), Rose (2:48 p.m.) and Koepka (2:37 p.m.) preceding them.
