After two rounds of play, Corey Conners has a two-stroke lead at the 2018 Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor, Florida.

Conners shot a 2-under 69 on Friday to increase his lead over the pack, which includes Tiger Woods. A 26-year-old from Listowel, Ont., Conners hit four birdies in the second round as he looked to create some separation between himself and the rest of the field.

Ranked 608th in the world, Conners has no PGA Tour victories to his name. Despite his status as an unknown, Conners remained unfazed when faced with difficult shots.

Four players are tied for second behind Conners. Woods is the biggest name of the golfers sitting two strokes behind the Canadian, alongside Paul Casey, Brandt Snedeker, Ryan Palmer and Kelly Kraft.
