It's been a long road for Bryson DeChambeau since his U.S. Open win in 2020, but all signs indicate the best might still lie ahead for the polarizing golfer.
After battling health issues and undergoing a significant weight-loss transformation, DeChambeau finished eighth at The Open Championship last year and was in contention at the PGA Championship in May before finishing fourth.
DeChambeau has also undergone a career makeover since his first and only major championship. He joined LIV Golf in 2022, signing a massive contract with the controversial startup league. DeChambeau certainly wasn't alone in taking the money, but he did upset some fans when he defected from the PGA Tour.

Here's what you need to know about DeChambeau's LIV contract as the PGA Tour and the Saudi-backed league prepare to merge.
Bryson DeChambeau LIV Golf contract
DeChambeau's LIV Golf contract was reported to be worth roughly $125 million. However, when a reporter mentioned the figure to him in 2022, DeChambeau said $125 million was "a little low."
He declined to go into detail but said, "It’s a four-and-a-half-year deal, I can definitely tell you that and a lot of it was upfront, which is great.”
DeChambeau's LIV salary seems to be in the same range as what Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson received. Koepka's bonus was reported to be near $100 million, while Johnson is reportedly receiving $125 million. Phil Mickelson, meanwhile, is said to have landed a $200 million deal from LIV Golf.
Shortly after inking the deal with LIV Golf, DeChambeau and other defectors sued the PGA Tour for doling out suspensions. With the two rivals now set to merge, DeChambeau may earn back his PGA Tour card while still pocketing the money that came with his LIV Golf deal.

Bryson DeChambeau LIV Golf wins
DeChambeau has yet to earn an individual win with LIV Golf. While his team finished first at Mayakoba in the first event of the 2023 season, his highest finish this year was seventh at Tulsa. DeChambeau also finished top-10 at LIV Golf's Washington D.C. event in May.
DeChambeau never finished higher than 10th in any event in 2022. Still, his effort at the PGA Championship was extremely encouraging, and he will be a name to watch at the 2023 U.S. Open three years after earning the biggest win of his career in the event.
