After finishing the first round atop the leaderboard, Brooke Henderson continued her strong start to 2018 at the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic on Saturday.
The Canadian completed the second round at par, keeping her at 5-under through 36 holes. That was good enough for a two-stroke lead when the 20-year-old Smiths Falls, Ont., native completed her day, while five golfers are tied for second place at 3-under.

The players battled high winds during the opening round on Thursday, and the conditions continued through Friday which forced officials to cancel play on that day and shorten the tournament to 54 holes. Henderson admitted that the winds and the uncertainty of the conditions — she only completed one hole on Friday before play was postponed — made her feel "mentally exhausted" on Saturday, but she felt good about her game heading into the final day.
"A couple of those bogeys I would like to take back, but having four birdies on the card is really good in this kind of wind," Henderson told LPGA.com of her second round. "There's been a lot of things going on this week but overall I feel like I'm a good position and I feel like my game is in a good spot."
With the later start time Saturday, play was eventually suspended due to darkness just before 6 p.m. ET, and will resume Sunday morning.
