Adam Hadwin is heading into the weekend at the Phoenix Open with some momentum.
After playing the first nine holes of Friday's second round at even par, the 30-year-old Canadian ripped off six birdies over his final nine holes to shoot a 6-under round of 65.
Hadwin finished the day by sinking a 15-foot birdie putt to climb into a tie for sixth place, trailing clubhouse leader Daniel Berger (-9) by two strokes.
After making nine straight pars to start the round, Hadwin caught fire after making the turn. He made three sets of back-to-back birdies, starting at No. 10 and 11. Hadwin made par on the next two holes, before finishing the round with four birdies over his final five.
The only disappointment of Hadwin's back nine was failing to excite the racous crowd at TPC Scottsdale's famous par-3 16th hole. His tee shot found the fringe, but Hadwin recovered to get up and down to save par. Ealier in the week, the Moose Jaw, Sask. native posted a picture of himself donning a Tom Brady jersey on the course's signature hole.

Hadwin is no stranger to posting low scores. He became the first Canadian in PGA Tour history to shoot a sub-60 round, posting a 13-under 59 in the third round of the 2017 CareerBuilder Challenge in January. Hadwin recorded his best finish of the 2018 season at the same event two weeks ago, finishing in a tie for third place at 20-under par.
