Just days after signing a five-year, $190 million deal to return to the Golden State Warriors, All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson underwent successful surgery to repair his torn ACL.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski also reported that Thompson is expected to make a full recovery and that there is no timetable for his return. Thompson's agent Greg Lawrence has said that Klay is expected to follow the standard 5-7-month recovery time for a torn ACL.
Lawrence also said that Klay's ACL recovery is tilted toward back end of that timetable: "While we are optimistic on a return as quickly as possible, Klay and the team are committed to taking the necessary time with the process."
Thompson tore his ACL in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on June 13. The 5-7-month timetable after today's surgery has the three-time NBA champion on pace to return anywhere between December and February.
Thompson has appeared in five consecutive All-Star Games, averaging 21.6 points shooting 47.1% from the field and 42.3% from long range over that span.
