Canada will face the Netherlands, New Zealand and Cameroon in the group stage of the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France.
The Canadians learned of their opposition on Saturday as the draw for next summer's tournament was held in a ceremony near Paris. Kenneth Heiner-Møller's squad is the world No. 5 and was drawn into Group E as the top-ranked team.

Canada will open its tournament against the 46th-ranked Cameroonians in Montpellier on June 10. Five days later, Heiner-Møller's team will head to Grenoble to face world No.19 New Zealand. The Canadians will face their stiffest test of the group stage on June 20 when they will take on seventh-ranked Netherlands, which is also the reigning European champion.
The top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-place sides, advance to the round of 16. The tournament final is scheduled for July 7 in Lyon.
Canada's best-ever result in a Women's World Cup came in 2003, when the team finished in fourth place. In 2015, the Canadians made it to the quarterfinals on home soil.
