Brazil U-17 head coach Carlos Amadeu accepted his team's defeat in the semi-final of the FIFA U-17 World Cup on Wednesday and said that England U-17 team deserved to win the match due to their efficiency in front of goal.

"They were effective. They created opportunities and scored. England deserved to win. We played well in the first half but couldn't score," said Amadeu.

Left winger Brenner had the perfect opportunity to score for Brazil when he found himself one-on-one with England goalie Curtis Anderson but the effort on goal was wide of the mark. His coach, however, refused to single him out for the team's general profligacy.

"I think in football you cannot pick one moment. We were playing good. They scored first but we came back. We got many chances to score but couldn't. Both teams could win. We played against a great team trained by a great coach Steve Cooper."

"No issues with the tactics. We played well today.  We could attack from the wing. Forwards were good. There was a chance where Lincoln couldn't touch the ball. We created, we had control of the ball but today we couldn't put the ball in the net. The defence was also good. There were some mistakes and England scored and won," suggested Amadeu.

Rhian Brewster notched an eye-catching hat-trick today against Brazil, his second in as many games but Carlos Amadeu reserved praise for the whole squad instead of speaking about the Liverpool youngster.

"Not only him [Brewster] there are so many players in this World Cup who will have a senior career. England especially have so many talented players."

"I am sad because we would have liked to win. But this happens. We must look into the future. We have one more match to play. As a leader, I can't allow the team to be sad. They must gear up and play next game. Our dream was to play final. But this happens."

Brazil will now take on Spain or Mali in the third-place match on October 28.
