Team USA Blue-White Scrimmage: Live updates, highlights, stats and more image

The Team USA Blue-White scrimmage gave us our first look at the players attempting to don the Red, White and Blue at the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China.

Players like Jayson Tatum (17 points), Kemba Walker (14 points) and De'Aaron Fox (12 points) stood out for the U.S. Men's National Team as they dominated the Select Team for four quarters.

Final: Team Blue 97, Team White 78

Team Blue closes out the game with a 19-point victory after a late push from Team White. Jayson Tatum led all scorers with 17 points on 6-for-8 (75%) shooting from the field with three 3-pointers. Kemba Walker finished with 14 points while De'Aaron Fox did a little bit of everything to help his team pick up the win.

For Team White, Derrick White and John Collins finished with 12 points apiece but the team could not overcome shooting 3-for-26 (11.5%) from beyond the arc.


Team Blue leads 92-66 with under three mintues to play. Scoring is coming in bunches from the second unit and Kyle Kuzma had a thunderous finish at the rim.


End of third quarter: Team Blue 79, Team White 48

Jayson Tatum has a game-high 17 points as Team Blue has run away with this one. His Boston Celtics' teammate Kemba Walker has 14 points and De'Aaron Fox has filled up the box score with eight points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks!


Team Blue has nearly extended their lead to 30 points. They lead 72-43 with under three minutes to play in the quarter. Jayson Tatum is in double figures with 11 points after a shifty couple dribble moves and tough finish at the hoop!


Team Blue remains in the lead 58-40 despite a slow start to the second half offensively. Marvin Bagley continues to go to work for Team White and is now up to eight points. Also for Team White, Derrick White found John Collins on this smooth lob to the rim!


Halftime: Team Blue 51, Team White 34

Team Blue takes a 17-point lead into the half behind solid 3-point shooting. They're 7-for-14 (50%) from long range while Team White is struggling to keep up, shooting 1-for-15 (6.7%) from downtown.

Kemba Walker's 10 points leads all scorers with Jayson Tatum's 9 points and De'Aaron Fox's 8 points doing the majority of the damage for Team Blue. John Collins and Marvin Bagley have six points each, leading the way for Team White.


Team Blue remains in the lead 49-34 with 1:09 to play in the half. Jayson Tatum and Donovan Mitchell are catching fire with nine and seven points, respectively. Tatum is 3-for-3 from long range while Mitchell is an efficient 3-for-5 from the field.


The U.S. Men's National Team is starting to run away with this. They lead the Select Team 45-24 just five minutes to play in the half. Kemba Walker is starting to heat up with a game-high 10 points on 4-for-7 shooting from the field.

Team Blue is starting to separate themselves – they lead 36-22 with just under seven minutes remaining in the half. Team White is struggling to find a rhythm, shooting 0-for-9 from beyond the arc.

End of First Quarter: Team Blue 31, Team White 20

Team Blue has taken the lead after a scoring burst from their second unit with De'Aaron Fox sparking the run with eight quick points. Blue leads White 31-20 at the end of the first quarter.


The second units are in. For Team Blue – De'Aaron Fox, Joe Harris, Jayson Tatum, Kyle Kuzma and Brook Lopez. For Team White – Derrick White, Pat Connaughton, John Collins, Mitchell Robinson and Jarrett Allen.

Team White leads Team Blue 12-11 at the first break with just under five minutes to go in the first quarter. Kemba Walker knocked down this  nasty  stepback early in the first.


Pregame

Team White is starting Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Jonathan Isaac, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Marvin Bagley.

Team Blue is starting Kemba Walker, Donovan Mitchell, Jaylen Brown, Khris Middleton and Myles Turner.

The uniforms are ready for the big scrimmage!


The rosters are set for the scrimmage as Team Blue represents the players competing to make the final roster and Team White represents the Select Team challenging those players.
