Week 12 Yahoo Fantasy Football: NFL DFS picks, lineup advice for cash games image

My Kansas City Chiefs onslaught in last week's Yahoo cash lineup didn't work out as great as I'd hope, but we can blame that at least partially on the weather (maybe?). The rest of the picks exceeded their projected scores and values by a landslide to make it a winner in most cash games. Our Week 12 Yahoo daily fantasy football cash game lineup hopes to hit on our stack this week and dominate the one-off picks for the second straight week.

The Panthers have quietly been one of the better teams in the NFL this season, rocking a 7-3 record, and we're stacking a QB-RB duo (though it's really a QB-WR stack in disguise) in a favorable road matchup. Our picks rely heavily on our RBs to do what they've done a lot lately -- score touchdowns -- and we're banking on our WRs to buck some trends and come up clutch.

There is one caveat for this week's lineup. If Robert Woods (shoulder, $20) is playing with no limits, he should take over for Cooper Kupp, and Rishard Matthews will be swapped out for Corey Davis ($16). The explanation -- and most importantly the rest of the Week 12 Yahoo cash game picks -- is below.

Yahoo Fantasy Football Week 12: NFL DFS cash lineup picks

QB: Cam Newton, Panthers @ Jets ($37). It's slim pickins for quarterbacks this week, so we're going to spend up to get one of the better options. Newton seems to be dealing with the loss of Kelvin Benjamin perfectly fine. Not only has he thrown for four touchdowns, but he's also been rushing more, averaging 90 rushing yards and adding a score in the past two games. Before last week, the Jets gave up six straight games of multiple TDs to QBs, and Cam can produce in both the air and ground to stack up the points.

RB: Mark Ingram, Saints @ Rams ($33). I'm gingerly going to say the Saints are a ground-and-pound team, even with Drew Brees at quarterback, but it's hard to argue against the stats. The Saints are running more, and Ingram has soared, scoring eight times and averaging 106 rushing yards per game in the past six contests. Against the Rams, who are fourth worst at limiting fantasy RBs, we like Ingram to continue letting the good times roll.

RB: Christian McCaffrey, Panthers @ Jets ($22). Since the Benjamin trade, McCaffrey has been Cam's favorite target, leading the team with 13 targets in the past two weeks. He's score more touchdowns (3) in those two games than he had all season (2), and the Jets have allowed three receiving touchdowns to running backs in the past five games. Don't forget, McCaffrey is still doing damage on the ground, too, rushing 15 times for 66 yards in Week 9.

WR: Rishard Matthews, Titans @ Colts ($22). After a sluggish four weeks, Matthews has bounced back, averaging 77 yards and two touchdowns in his past three games. The Colts secondary has been thrashed by nearly everyone all year, and Matthews seems to be in a prime position to continue that trend. As part of our caveat, it's worth mentioning that Corey Davis has had more targets than Matthews in the past two games and was inches away from touchdown last week. The rookie could easily break out, as well. (Update: Matthews (hamstring) did not pratice on Friday, making his status in doubt this week.  Alshon Jeffrey ($21) would be his replacement in this lineup.)

WEEK 12 RANKINGS
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

WR: Cooper Kupp, Rams vs. Saints ($16). With news that Robert Woods is in an arm sling, his status is uncertain this week. Marshon Lattimore will stick to Sammy Watkins, and if Woods does miss tune, Kupp falls into Woods' role.  Woods has been absolutely on fire lately, recording 70-plus receiving yards in four of the past five games and scoring multiple TDs twice in the past three games. Kupp hasn't been too shabby either, averaging over five targets and 50 yards in the past three. Again, as part of our caveat, if Woods is healthy with no limits, we like Woods to continue his hot streak, but if not Kupp will pick up where he left off with ease. (Update: Woods is inactive, cementing Kupp in this lineup.)

WR: Paul Richardson, Seahawks @ 49ers ($17). After two great games, Richardson has had two really poor outings, catching only three passes for 43 yards and one catch for 41 yards in his past two games. Despite this, Richardson runs into a great matchup this week. In Week 2, Richardson caught a touchdown pass against San Francisco, and the 49ers haven't been much better since then, ranked in the upper half of average FPPG to WRs (21.7).

TE: Tyler Kroft, Bengals vs. Browns ($16). Outside the Giants and Broncos, the Browns are just as bad against tight ends. The Browns made it three straight games allowing a touchdown to a tight end, and none of the TEs are even worth every-week roster spots (Kyle Rudolph, Eric Ebron, Marcedes Lewis). Kroft has been doing great since taking over for Tyler Eifert, producing at least seven fantasy points four of his seven starts this season, and last time out against the Browns, he had six catches for 68 yards and two touchdowns.

FLEX: Marqise Lee, Jaguars @ Cardinals ($20). Lee very well may get the "Patrick Peterson" treatment, but Peterson hasn't been as shutdown as he has been in previous years. Lee will move all over the field, and as a whole, the Cardinals average the fifth-most points to opposing WRs, giving Lee -- the clear-cut No. 1 WR of the Jaguars -- plenty of chances to put up yardage and possibly scores. Allen Hurns could come back this week, but even if does, Lee was getting more targets than him before the injury, and that should continue.

D/ST: Cincinnati Bengals vs. Browns ($17).  The Bengals welcome in the Browns, who are allowing the most FPPG to D/STs and coming off a disastrous five-turnover game last week. It was the second straight week the Browns allowed a defense to score a touchdown, and it's the sixth straight week of multiple turnovers. The Browns are sticking with DeShone Kizer, who continues to struggle, and the Bengals should easily be able to smother them at home.
