Week 9 Fantasy Football Flex Rankings for Superflex, 2-QB leagues

Even though last week was a down one for quarterbacks, including Josh Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, and Kirk Cousins, the position still was responsible for 19 of the top 50 fantasy scorers of Week 8, per fantasydata.com. While that number of worthwhile quarterbacks may devalue the position in standard leagues, in two-QB and Superflex leagues, it shows just how valuable having two solid QBs can be. That's why our Week 9 fantasy superflex rankings have all 28 of this week's starting QBs ranked in the top 100.

The cases where a fantasy owner would want to start an RB or a WR over a QB in a superflex spot are few and far between. Perhaps if you landed James Robinson or Chase Claypool late in a fantasy draft or grabbed a temporary starting RB or breakout WR on waivers, you might consider a non-quarterback, but even still, quarterbacks will always have a higher floor because they have the ball in their hands every play.

That's part of the reason that we have Garrett Gilbert ranked ahead of the likes of Brandin Cooks, Le'Veon Bell, and Leonard Fournette. It's not necessarily that we're confident in Gilbert, but he'll have a chance to make plays in a game where Dallas should have to throw a lot. That may not turn into much, but his floor is higher than the boom-or-bust Cooks and those two backs stuck in committees.

WEEK 9 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start 'em, sit 'em

Starting a guy like Gilbert may not be fun, nor is trusting Joe Flacco (vs. Patriots) and Philip Rivers (vs. Ravens) in tough matchups. But at the end of the day, they have higher floors than a lot of the guys lower in the rankings. Their potential to be a top-50 scorer makes them worth starting over more volatile RBs and WRs.
