Week 8 Yahoo Fantasy Football: NFL DFS picks, lineup advice for cash games image

We have two stacks working in our Week 8 Yahoo daily fantasy football cash game lineup, as our strategy is to take advantage of two potential blowouts. We have a QB-WR stack that has been money for the past two weeks, and we have an RB-D/ST stack that has been a great pick in NFL DFS the past two weeks, as well.

Last week, we rode Dak Prescott and Jarvis Landry to 121 points, which is right on the money line between winning or losing -- unless everyone else had Ezekiel Elliott (then RIP). This week, we're going to ride our QB again while stacking Saints and piling on the Chargers-Patriots game, which has the second-highest Vegas point total.

WEEK 8 RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Yahoo Fantasy Football Week 8: NFL DFS cash lineup picks

QB: Carson Wentz, Eagles vs. 49ers ($37). Wentz is the second-highest scoring quarterback in fantasy right now, and the 49ers have given up 28 points to Kirk Cousins and 29 points to Dak Prescott in their past two games, respectively. The Eagles are letting Wentz throw the ball as much as he wants, and even in blowouts (which this very well may be), it won't stop the Eagles from letting him sling it.  Wentz is worth his high price.

RB: Mark Ingram, Saints vs. Bears ($22).  Since Adrian Peterson's departure two weeks ago, Ingram has over 100 yards and at least one touchdown in each game. The Bears aren't necessarily the worst at stopping the run, but they also aren't that great at it either. Ingram also has added value in the passing game. For a player who has posted back-to-back top-10 fantasy weeks among RBs, he's more than worth his $22 price tag.

RB: Melvin Gordon, Chargers @ Patriots ($33). Gordon fell flat last weekend, but there hasn't been an RB who hasn't fallen flat against the Broncos run defense (save for Orleans Darkwa). Gordon faces the Patriots, who are allowing a third-highest yards per carry to RBs (4.8). He also has put up three games of 50-plus receiving yards this season, and the Patriots have let backs do that four times. Gordon will attack on the ground and through the air for a big day.

WR: Nelson Agholor, Eagles vs. 49ers. ($19). Instead of pairing Wentz with Alshon Jeffrey, I'm sticking with Agholor, who has only two fewer receptions and more receiving yards than Jeffrey. Not to mention, Agholor is tied with Zach Ertz for the team lead in receiving touchdowns with five.  It appears Agholor is shedding his "boom-or-bust" label he had at the start of the year, and he's becoming way more dependable, recording at least four catches and 45-plus yards in each of the past three games.

WR: Tyrell Williams, Chargers @ Patriots ($18). I'm not convinced the Patriots have solved their defensive woes after shutting down the Falcons. Last time the Chargers faced a team in the top five for FPPG to opposing WRs, Williams had five catches for 115 yards and a score. Yes, his past three games look terrible, but they were against the Broncos, Raiders and Giants, all teams currently ranked in the top eight in limiting opposing WRs. A good matchup means good results.

WR: Danny Amendola, Patriots vs. Chargers ($17). Amendola is averaging six targets a game in the past four weeks, but he hasn't quite translated that into fantasy relevance yet.  Against the Chargers, that will change. The Chargers are averaging a solid 24 FPPG allowed to WRs (seventh most) and those numbers are even higher on the road. If the targets stay there for Amendola, he should have a solid outing.

TE: Tyler Kroft, Bengals vs. Colts ($13). The Colts have allowed four touchdowns to TEs in the past five games, and Marcedes Lewis nearly came away with two touchdowns last week. Kroft has been a touchdown machine for the Bengals in the red zone, putting up three in four games. The Bengals should find themselves in the red zone often against the soft Colts defense, so Kroft has high upside for such a low price.

FLEX: Tevin Coleman, Falcons @ Jets ($20).  The Jets have struggled all year to secondary backs, giving up double-digit points to them four times. They've also struggled with pass-catching backs, allowing three TDs in six games. Coleman has great hands and is second string to Devonta Freeman, although he is heavily used in the Falcons offense. For a backup, he's a bit higher priced than usual, but he's worth it this week as long as his knee issue isn't too serious.

D/ST: New Orleans Saints vs. Bears ($19). The Saints have created 10 turnovers in the past four games, and they can create more against the Bears in the Superdome. If the Saints can put up points early, they'll force rookie Mitchell Trubisky throw more than seven passes, thus raising the chance for a turnover or two. The Saints are one of the higher-priced defenses this week, but there isn't a solid amount to choose from, so it's not a big deal to pay up for a good D/ST.
