Week 7 Fantasy Football Lineup Advice: Ace your start ‘em, sit ‘em decisions on Tua Tagovailoa, Melvin Gordon, Chase Claypool & more with RotoBaller’s “Who to Start?” tool image

No Bills, no Rams, no Vikings, and no Eagles -- wait, this isn't what we signed up for on draft day, is it? Fortunately, the experts at RotoBaller are allowing Sporting News Fantasy readers free access to their exclusive “Who to Start?” advice tool to help with your tough Week 7 fantasy lineup decisions.

How does the “Who to Start?” tool work? Simple: Choose up to four players to compare below, pick your league settings in the upper right corner (PPR, half-PPR, standard), and push “Who to Start?” It’s that easy. From there, you’ll get a lineup recommendation based on RotoBaller’s award-winning rankings and projections.

The only plus to having the aforementioned four teams on bye is that it takes away several tough defensive matchups for players at all positions. Still, the loss of Cooper Kupp, Justin Jefferson, Stefon Diggs, Dalvin Cook, Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, Dallas Goedert, and many more thins out depth across the board. Injuries certainly aren't helping the situation either.

As always, RotoBaller factored in usage, matchups, and talent into its Week 7 rankings, and it’s reflected in its “Who to Start?” tool. Check out an example from each offensive position.

Advice below is based on full-point PPR leagues

Start or Sit?: Week 7 fantasy QB lineup advice from RotoBaller

Russell Wilson (vs. Jets) vs. Tua Tagovailoa (vs. Steelers) vs. Matt Ryan (vs. Titans) vs. Derek Carr (vs. Texans)

Is Wilson (hamstring) playing? Is Tua (concussion)? The latter is a safer bet than the former, and perhaps that's why Tagovailoa is above Wilson in RotoBaller's rankings. However, it's Carr who leads this list, thanks in part to his matchup against a poor Texans' pass defense and the weapons around him. He has the safest floor and arguably the highest ceiling. Ryan, who's fourth among these QBs on RotoBaller's list, also has a decent floor, but his overall outlook depends on the health of Jonathan Taylor (ankle).

Start or Sit?: Week 7 fantasy RB lineup advice from RotoBaller

Melvin Gordon III (vs. Jets) vs. Tyler Allgeier (@ Bengals) vs. Kareem Hunt (@ Ravens) vs. JK Dobbins (vs. Browns)

The real question here is what role Gordon will have after getting benched in Week 6. If he regains his Week 5 role, he'll be the best play in this group, but because of the uncertainty, RotoBaller lists Hunt as the top play here. Dobbins (knee) has his own usage issues, and Allgeier is in a timeshare with Caleb Huntley (and has a tough matchup), so Hunt might be the safest bet. Ideally, you could avoid all of these RBs this week.

UPDATE: Dobbins (knee) has been ruled out for this week, making Kenyan Drake (vs. Browns) a solid play over these other backs.

Start or Sit?: Week 7 fantasy WR lineup advice from RotoBaller

Chase Claypool (@ Dolphins) vs. Garrett Wilson (@ Broncos) vs. Donovan Peoples-Jones (@ Ravens) vs. Zay Jones (vs. Giants)

Claypool broke out last week and has a great matchup, and that's enough to vault him to the top of this list in RotoBaller's rankings. Jones, Wilson, and Peoples-Jones (in that order) are close behind -- and all have plenty of upside -- but Claypool has the highest ceiling. He might have the lowest floor, though, so make sure to assess what your team needs. If you really want to play it safe, Jones might be your guy.

WEEK 7 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

Start or Sit?: Week 7 fantasy TE lineup advice from RotoBaller

Mike Gesicki (vs. Steelers) vs. Cole Kmet (@ Patriots) vs. Hunter Henry (vs. Bears)

Kmet has the best matchup on paper, but RotoBaller is buying into the Henry resurgence with Bailey Zappe under center. If Mac Jones (ankle) starts, that might change Henry's outlook, but he still has just as much touchdown upside as either Gesicki or Kmet, who have floors of zero.
