With the Taysom Hill TE era officially coming to an end before Week 12, some normalcy returned to the tight end position. Ahead of Week 13, it's looking fairly strong with a few high-volume targets emerging, and our Week 13 fantasy TE PPR rankings are stronger than they've been in some time thanks to those higher-floor options.
Despite an unusually late bye week eliminating Rob Gronkowski from this week's rankings and Mark Andrews going on the COVID list, there is still good depth there. That's thanks in part to the expected return of Zach Ertz from an ankle injury, but in PPR formats, it has to do more with certain TEs getting more targets.
WEEK 13 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker
Normally, the TE position is very TD dependent. That's how Jonnu Smith has produced value the last month or so despite averaging fewer than two catches per game. That's been true again for most of this year, but a handful of guys are getting consistent opportunities to catch passes. Heading into Week 12, 16 players at the position were averaging at least five targets per game, and nine had been seeing at least six per contest. Those high-target threats will certainly move up in PPR rankings.
WEEK 13 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | D/ST | Kicker
Notably, Evan Engram (@ Seahawks), Hunter Henry (vs. Patriots), and T.J. Hockenson (@ Bears) will all be on the rise. They all have seen at least six targets per game and should have higher floors in PPR leagues. They may all be in difficult-looking matchups, but if they continue to get targets, they should be top-10 producers.

As for players that move down, Jared Cook (@ Falcons) has a favorable matchup, but he has averaged fewer than four targets per game this season. Mike Gesicki (vs. Bengals) and Jonnu Smith (vs. Browns) also move down a bit, as they haven't consistently seen targets throughout the season. They are in good matchups and have plenty of TD upside, but it's far from a guarantee that they will produce. (Update: Smith has been ruled out for Week 13, and Anthony Firkser will make for a sleeper as his replacement.)
